Thearley rejects calls to kill-off blog

In recent time many have suggested that just as the farmer takes his blind old incontinent sheep dog out to the barn with a trusty double-barrelled and blows the mother away, this blog ought to suffer a similar fate. Their reasoning is that this blog is rarely updated and when it is the topics covered are seldom relevant. Yet with Thearley's latest adventures this blog is set to be given a new lease on life.

I travel today to the land of my birth to go before the Army Officer Selection Board (AOSB), which consists of a gruelling three-and-a-half day assessment course that can be best described as a boot camp. Applicants who successfully complete the course are then eligible to enter the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst. Upon completing this 'boot camp' I will travel to Munich to stay with Jens, my friend I met in Chile. Those wishing to learn more about Jens (or even see a photo) should consult this blog's posts for the first half of 2005 when I was in Chile. I will then make my way from Munich up through Germany, possibly across to Holland and Belgium before returning to the UK in order to return to Oz, arriving on 17th April.

This Blog will now follow these adventures.

NEW ADVENTURE COMING SOON

Given that nobody has yet commented, I thought I would.

I've just landed at Singapore's Changi airport and have a 5 hour wait before leaving for London. I have a splitting headache.

There are numerous signs about the terminal that read: 'What to do at Changi'. I am a little hesitant to consult it just in case it advises visiting the site of the former POW camp- lucky Nick's not here; we'd have a whirlwind 5 hour tour before our next flight.

Must go now, gotta find aspirin.

I thought you were leaving in a few weeks...oh well, you're gone now...HOOORAY! nah, have a safe flight, don't get too bored in Changi airport, make good use of the free internet and xbox, the end restaurant upstairs is pretty good and the drinks are cheaper in the bar upstairs than the one downstairs. Hope the splitting headache stops, enjoy the rest of the trip and good luck in the test!

    Sincerely,

    Phatty T

As you can see, I am making use of the free internet. But how do know all that about Changi? Everything you said is dead true, although I got something to eat elsewhere with a crooning three-piece band.

    Splitting headache has ceased.

ah, well you see I have become well accustomed to Changi airport as my sole journeys to and from the EU last year required lengthy stays in terminal 2, unfortunately I wasn't able to indulge in a satay burger at burger king (is that still on the menu?) but did get a free shot of Ruby Red Absolute Cut! I thought about eating at the sports bar, which had the 2 piece band, but the more traditional cuisine upstairs enticed my taste buds too much. I’m guessing you have boarded your flight by now, if not, hurry the fuck up! As it’s been over 5 hours and you should be on the plane, and I’m still doing homework at 1:57am (ACST)…fuck I need sleep. Anyway, safe flight and god speed!
